Memorial Union Positions

Student employees have the opportunity to develop skills in customer service, communication, and leadership. Below is a list of positions at the Memorial Union.

Information Desk Attendant (IDA)

The Information Desk Attendant is an entry-level position that provides customer service for the campus community. Under the direction of the Director of Memorial Union, the Info Desk Attendant works at the Information Desk during its open hours, as well as occasional events, e.g. Picnic Day. The position uses creative problem-solving techniques to make referrals for a wide range of inquiries, complete tasks, including research and database entry, maintain lost and found, track current information on events and services both on campus and in the community, and coordinate tabling requests. 

MU Building Supervisor (BSupe)

Under the direction of the Director of Memorial Union this position acts as the onsite manager of the Memorial Union during all open hours, and special events. The position patrols the building to enforce policies, ensures the building is free of hazards, cleans spills as necessary, opens, resets and closes meeting rooms, and responds to and handles incidents and emergencies. The Building Manager must be the friendly face of the Memorial Union yet still handle situations in a firm manner. They work in a complex environment with many users and tenants, and must be able to make decisions and judgment calls with minimal direction. Use creative problem-solving techniques to make referrals for a wide range of inquiries. Supervise student Information Desk Attendant position, monitor facility and equipment needs, contacting building staff with work orders as needed.

 

Games Area Positions

Customer Service Representative (CSR)

The customer service representative is an entry-level position, responsible for attending to the needs of the customers of the Games Area. Knowledge of the wide range of services we provide is required, as is creative problem solving to complete daily tasks, care for customer needs and inquiries, as well as keeping a clean and safe environment for the public.
