Memorial Day Speakers Send Virtual Remembrances

The Memorial Union may be closed, but the military personnel for whom it stands in tribute are not forgotten.

The building, honoring Aggies who gave their lives in military service, would normally host UC Davis’ annual Memorial Day Ceremony on May 21. Instead, the in-person ceremony has been replaced with a video featuring some of the speakers and attendees who would have otherwise paid tribute to our country’s fallen.

Find Your Community at the Memorial Union

As a central hub of student life, the UC Davis Memorial Union hosts a range of services and programs that help students connect to campus and enrich their experience. With the management of the Memorial Union complex, Games Area, Gunrock Gaming and Outdoor Adventures, this department offers students the opportunity to create a community that they want to be a part of here at UC Davis.

The Memorial Union complex contains a variety of resources and spaces that allow students to study, snack and socialize. Students can de-stress and bond with other Aggies over bowling, billiards and console games at the Games Area or eSports and PC games at Gunrock Gaming. Both centers are conveniently located within the complex. Though not technically located on site, Outdoor Adventures has a warm and welcoming presence right next to the Memorial Union Information Desk. Stop by to chat with an adventure expert about outdoor trips, equipment rental, rock climbing at the ARC and more.
