Reservations & Facility Rentals

The Games Area offers Bowling Lane Reservations for up to 8 lanes as well as Full Facility Rentals for private events. 

• The Rec Room: included with any Full Facility Rental or can be added to any Bowling Lane Reservation of at least two lanes. Standalone costs for the Rec Room are listed on the Rec Room page.  
• Last Minute Reservations: Phone-in reservations are accepted, for fewer than 8 lanes, up to one hour before the desired reservation time, by calling (530) 752-2580.
• Please note: Reservations are unavailable after 4:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays.

Submitting a Request

• Review: Check the Games Area availability page.
• Advance Notice: 
  • Bowling Lane Reservation requests must be submitted at least 3 business days in advance. 
  • Full Facility Reservations must be submitted at least 7 business days in advance. 
• Planning Tip: On average, 4 people can complete one game on a single lane in about 1 hour (including setup time for shoes and balls).
• Lane Limits: Standard reservations are capped at 8 lanes. Requests for more than 8 lanes require a Full Facility Rental. (We maintain 4 open lanes to accommodate drop-in play.)
• Grace Period: Reserved lanes are held as a courtesy for up to 15 minutes past your scheduled start time.
• Operational Availability: Lane availability depends on operational equipment at the time of your event and may shift due to maintenance or repairs.
• Online Booking Forms: Full Facility Reservations and Bowling Lane Reservations that include the Rec Room must be submitted using one of the online request forms below and can not be placed over the phone. 

Campus Departments & Off-Campus Clients

• Campus Department Payment Method: Payments by campus departments should be made using a Chart of Accounts (COA) rather than an Entertainment Card. Check your COA using the UC Davis Finjector to ensure it's correct.
  • Campus departments must submit reservations via the online Google form (not over the phone) so the COA can be properly recorded.
• Off-Campus Corporate Credit Cards: Some payments made with a corporate card have been denied based on corporate card restrictions since the Games Area is a recreation facility. Event planners will be asked to pay for the reservation via an alternate credit card before the event can begin.
