Per the Office of the Chancellor, the University of California flag is flown at half-staff at the Memorial Union for three days to honor Patwin Elder Edward "Bill" Wright. When the flag is at half-staff, a memorial card is posted on the flagpole to recognize the memory of that individual.

The flag is being flown at half-staff from October 6-9, 2021 to honor Patwin Elder Bill Wright’s life and legacy, and in gratitude for his contributions to UC Davis.
